OREGON FRED RUECK GOP Central Chief Named Fred Rueck, Bonanza rancher, Identified for many years with the Republican party in Klamath Coun ty, has been named to the chair manship of Ihe Klamath County Republican Central Committee. Mrs. Lois Erickson, 2641 Front Street, Klamath Falls, will serve as vice chairman. Others of the commitlee elected at an August 27 meeting were Alice Henry, secretary, to serve for a two year term; Elmer Lcm- ler, former chairman ol the cen tral committee, treasurer. William Lorenz, Chiloquin, and Josephine Reginato, Klamath Falls, will serve as congressional com mitteeman and committeewoman. Members of the district nominat ing committee are Frank Huslead, Thomas McClure and Loren Bin ney. George Proctor, immediate past chairman, was elected alternate chairman and the post of alternate vice chairman will be filled by Dave Card. last Supper' On Exhibit SALEM (Special) A' priceless pearl carving of the "Last Sup per" is being shown in a unique art exhibit at the greater Oregon Stale Fair, which opened in Sa lem Thursday. The exhibit is shown by John Korenian of Klamath Falls and the carving is considered the most precious article in his col lection which includes art objects from all parts of the world. The carving was made 254 years ago by one of Korenian's ances tors in Armenia. It was stolen in 11)01 and Korenian finally found it, after many years of searching, in Seattle in 1024. About three hv four in size, including the frame, it had a border of diamonds and rilhipK wlirsn trlrn Thncr, hul Vinnr. removed when Korenian found it and he has replaced them with imitations. The "Last Supper" has had few Plume cxnioiiions. ji was shown nt the Century of Progress in 19.1.1 34; the World's Fair in San Fran cisco; and the Centennial in Dallas, Texas, in 1838. The carving is one of about 200 pieces which korenian is exhibiting at Ihe fair. Among them is a jew el box and solid gold snuff box which formerly belonged to Egypt's King Farouk: a solid gold belt made in Turkey; n solid gold belt made in 1K40 for a queen of Austria; and glasses th:'. are from 4,000 to 5,000 years old. Many beautiful hangings are in the exhibit. One was given Ko renian by the father of Iho 1,-ilc King Faisal - of Iraq who was killed in the recent revolt. Also included are many beautiful Ori ental rugs from Persia, India and Turkey. There is a miniature loom showing how Oriental rugs are made.
