Anniversary
Services Set
Services Sunday, August 31, will
mark the second anniversary of
ministry at the Assembly of God
Church for Rev. and Mrs. Silas
H. Jones and their two sons, Gary
Lynn and Bobby.
Dr. Cecil Lowry, Oakland,
teacher, lecturer, evangelist and
pastor, will be present to fill the
pulpit at both the morning and
evening services, 11 o'clock and
7:30 evangelistic rally. The public
is invited to attend both services.
Reverend Jones graduated from
the Glad Tidings Bible Institute of
San Francisco, now Bethany Bi
ble College of Santa Cruz. After
completion of his studies in 1948,
he served as pastor of churches
for several years and served the
Assembly of God Fellowship p.3 an
evangelist before accepting a call
to the Assembly of God Church
in Klamath Falls.
FHA Refund
Figures Told
FHA refunds to families that
have paid off their insured mort
gages this year amounted to al
most eight million dollars, tea
eral Housing Commissioner Nor
man P. Mason said today.
"The National Housing Act,"
Commissioner Mason pointed out,
"provides for a system of mutu
ality under the home mortgage in
surance plan of Section 203. The
way it works is that any portion
of the mortgage insurance premi
ums paid by the borrower, but not
needed by the FHA to pay for its
operations, are returned to the
owner of the property after the
mortgage is paid in full.
The eight million dollars in share
payments paid by the FHA last
year went to 79,000 home owners
following the payment in full of
their mortgages. Since the begin
ning of its insured mortgage oper
ations the mutual mortgage insur
ance fund of the FHA has paid
$82,655,000 to 689.000 families.
"To many FHA insured mort
gage home owners the dividend
comes as a surprise," Commission
er Mason said, "because most peo
ple do not realize that the Federal
Housing Administration is a com
pletely self-supporting government
agency.
We not only pay all of our
operating expenses from income
but also under the mutual fund we
pay these participating share divi
dends when the mortgage is paid
in lull and there is a credit bal
ance because losses were less than
anticipated."

mittee who paricipated in the

son. Mrs. Orville Ferrell, Mrs. Joe

retary, Mrs. Lane Smith, past

tee, also helped with the program.
