THIS PLANNING COMMITTEE went info action at Peace Memorial Presbyterian Church,
preparatory to arrival of a group of 20 young people from Stockton, California, August
5 to voluntarily build a migrant center at the Malin transient camp. The work team has
raised the sum of $600 in their own communities to finance food, transportation and
other needs during the time they will be here. They will spend several weeks giving their
time to put up a building to be used as a center for the care of young children, a social
hall for. young people who will be in the Basin for the harvest and for church meetings.
This is a Christian service offered by groups of young people from the First Christian
Church of Stockton. Help will be sought from residents of the community in the contri
bution of materials to build the center. Left to right are Bill Kurtz, Merrill, chairman of
