California organization, Mrs.
Grant Merrill, past director of the
district. Red Bluff, was present at
the Thursday meeting, accom
panied bv the president of the
Wonderland Club, Mrs. Mary Tip
ton of Red Bluff, and a Mrs. Rey
nolds and Mrs. Pettigrew.
Mrs. Mary Lilly, sweepstakes
winner for her entries in the flow
er show held at Yreka in May,
was presented her award during
the meeting.
Special prize winners were Hil
da Cooley and Ada Johnstone. The
husiness session was conducted by
the club president, Mrs. Henrietta
Terwilliger, and hostesses for the
social hour were Grace Leavers
and Mary Silva.
Others present besides the pre
viously mentioned included tvelyn
with over 10 years service are re
ceiving awards. Nearly 130 of the
.'awards are for over 25 years scrv-
ice.

Happy Camp Bible
School To Begin
HAPPY CAMP-The annual Va
cation Bible School of the Com
in unity Methodist Church will be
held July 21 through August 1
beginning at 9:30 a.m. each morn
ing, according to the Rev. Roy
Sprague, pastor.
Each day's schedule will include
a great deal of singing, surprises,
Bible stories, object lessons, recre
ation, fun to make handicraft
and other spiritual help.
Friday, August 1 at 8 p.m. there
will he a VBS demonstration pro
gram in which every boy and girl
will have a part. They will show
what they have learned and the
things that they have made during
the school and all the friends and
parents are especially invited to
this program.

The Klamath Falls Garden Club
met at the home of Mrs. Hugh
O'Connor. July 7. for a tour of
gardens conducted by Mrs. Glen
Ferguson. The beautiful gardens of
Mrs. Arch Proctor, Mrs. W. W. .
Thompson, and her mother, Mrs.
Henry Scmon, Mrs. Wilt Black
man, Mrs. Erwin Campbell, Mrs. j
David Goehring. Mrs. Earle Red-j
man, Mrs. Glen Ferguson, andj

A sack lunch was enjoyed in the
O'Connor garden. Coffee was
served by Pali O'Connor.
Twenty two members and guests
made (he tour. The next tour will
be a field trip in August. Plans
were also made for Ihe club's
flower show scheduled for Au-i
gust. A class in landscaping was
conducted by Mrs. O'Connor. i

Louis Andersen, unit chairman,
conducted the meeting with Mrs.
Floyd Clnsson reading the min
utes in the absence of Mrs. Er
nest Hardman. secretary.
Mrs. Jesse Kersten demonstrat
ed the correct selection of pic
tures and picture frame making
Mrs. Gordon Prater conducted a
tin craft session, showing how to
make a variety of useful and
beautiful things of tin. A discus
sion on the unit's annual rummage
sale was held.
Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Kersten
were hostesses to the 15 women
including a guest from Tillamook,
Oregon, Mrs. Raleigh Jones. The
next meeting will be August 21.
