GUESTS FROM THE FAR NORTH who loved Oregon
but flew right back to Alaska, have been Mrs. Paul Mor
gan, far left, and daughter Connie Rae, 13, third from-the
left, seated next to Charles A. Whittemore, 6429 South
Sixth Street. Ricky Whittemore, also 13, sits next to his
mother, right. Mrs. Morgan and daughter are from Sitka,
Alaska, where the Whittemore family lived and were in
business for several years. They are now co-owners of the
Mt. View Trailer Court on South Sixth. The hosts and their
guests did a bit of vacationing on Puget Sound near Se
attle before Mrs. Morgan and daughter left for home.

ALOHA TO THE MAINLAND will soon be changed
to Aloha to the Islands, when Roberta Matthews, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Matthews, 1832 Earle, returns home
August 4 following a summer session at the University of
Hawaii in Honolulu. Roberta sailed last month aboard the
SS Lurline from Los Angeles. She is enrolled in a home ec
course at the university, and will return in time to com
plete her final year as a home economics major at Oregon
State College this fall. Roberta's parents are gearing
themselves for the dishes they know will come with her
return poi, lomi lomi salmon, and all the rest of the trim
min.gs for a real Hawaiian luau.

A GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY is a time for a family gathering. Daughters

quet was served by the Aurora
Temple No. 5:1, Pythian Sisters, to
125 Yreka and visiting Knights of
Pythias and wives in the Odd Kel-
lows Hall in Yreka.
During Ihe dinner a presentation
of a colored photograph of Mount
Shasta was made to Grand Chan-i
cellor Wilhurn by Wayne Arm
strong on behalf of the Yreka
Lodge.
During the ceremonials the Py
thian Sisters were entertained at,
Ihe Odd fellows Hall where special!
honors were bestowed on Mrs.
Quinler iKdith' Harris of Sac
ramento. formerly of Yreka. Mrs ,
Harris was honored as Ihe newly,
elected Pythian Sisters Grand'

Mr. and Mrs. Elon Owen Foster,
who have lived in Klamath Falls
since 11125, were honored on June 211
with a reception at the Klamath
Falls Yacht Club for their 50th
wedding anniversary". They were
married on June 28, inns. Mrs. Fos

roy. Kirby, Wyoming.
Hosts for the delightfully appoint
ed affair were their daughters and
sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Haz
zard. Sacramento and Mr. and Mrs.
Klhert Stiles, Klamath Falls. Re
ception hours were from 1 to 5
p.m. Also in the receiving line were
their granddaughter. Mrs. Frank
Nole Jr., and Mr. Nole, Sacramen
to. The Ihree-liered golden wedding
coke, topped with the symbol of
half a century, was encircled with
white rosebuds and golden leaves
on a frill of golden net at the base,
(lolden tapers further enhanced the
central motif.

Mrs. Foster wore a golden orchid
at the shoulder and her husband
wore a gold earnation. hoth gifts

anniversary theme.
Mr. and Mrs. George Hillis, this
city, guests during the afternoon,
who were celebrating their 29th
wedding anniversary on the day of
the reception, were presented with
a corsage and boutonniere by the
hostesses for the party.

"Lollipop" was Ihe theme chosen

at the Yacht Club.
The room was decorated with al
ternate pink and white lollipops.
A canopy covered the refreshment
table, from which some 80 guests
from four churchejiin the Basin
were served.
Churches represented included
Peace Memorial. Malin, Tulelake,
and Peace Memorial Presbyterian.
Chaperons were Mr. and Mrs.
Kd Green of Malin; the Rev. and
Mrs. Art Johnson. Tulelake; the
