The court held the citizenship of
a soldier who deserted in Ger
many could not be canceled after
he returned to U. S. territory.
Mrs. D'Aquino. now 42, was
graduated from the University of
California at Los Angeles. She
was in Japan visiting relatives
when World War II broke out.
After the war she was arrested
in Japan and convicted of treason
at a trial in San Francisco. She
served six years and two months
of a 10-year sentence defore be
ing paroled in 1056.
