Girls on May 16 at the Malin Ma
sonic Hall, Mary Kay Krueger was
installed as worthy adviser. The
welcome address was given by
Bob Victorin and installing offi
cers for the impressive ceremony
AMARANTH
Friendship Court No. 11, Order
of Amaranth held a stated meet'
ing May 21 at the Scottish Rite
Temple with Royal Matron Luella
Chilcote and Royal Patron Dale
Howell presiding.
The court was entertained with
' piano and violin selections by Lin
da and Sally Hanville, daughters
of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hanville
Grand officers of the Grand
Court of Oregon introduced and
welcomed were SK Jack schulze,
past grand royal patron; and HL
Blanche Schulze. grand assistant
lecturer; HL Betty Day, Royal Ma
tron, and HL Melvina Little, as
sociate matron, and Roxy Ann
Court of Medford were also hon
ored guests of the evening.
The court honored its past roy
al matrons and patrons, HL Mary
Ellen Gaster, HL Lucille Wirtz,
HL Emogene Jones, SK James
Hunter and SK Norman Jones.
Also honored were HL Bertha Jones
and SK Harold Jones, past royal
matron and patron of Wenatchee
Court, Wenatchee, Washington.
Memorial services were held for
the late HL Rosella Richardson
who died during the last year.

cial session of grand court at
which time HL-Lucille Wirtz was
installed as grand representative
to Iowa. Grand installing officers
were HL Emogene Jones, marsh
al;- isK Norman Jones, aide to the
marshal; HL Blanche Schulze, pre
late; and HL Isobel Sanders, mu
sician. HL Fannie Mae Thompson, as
sociate matron and SK Elmer Vin
cent, associate patron, presented a
birthday gift from the court to
Koyal Matron Luella Chilcote.
Following the meeting refresh
ments were served during a so
cial hour.
The next regular session of the
court on June 18 will be Obligation
Night and each member is urged
to bring another member who has
not attended court for some time

viser; Sandra Stone and Sue Lund
of the Klamath Falls Assembly,
chaplain and recorder; LaVonne
Marks, Reedsport Assembly, mar
shal; Mrs. Frank Paygr Jr., mu

mother adviser.
Taking part in the crowning
ceremony were members of the
Lost River Chapter of DeMolay.
An addenda honoring Mary Kay
was given by all the members of
the Malin Assembly, after which
Trudy Victorin presented her with
a bouquet of pink and white carna
tions. Janet and Trudy Victorin,
young daughters of Mr. and Mrs.
Bob Victorin, also assisted with
the addenda.
Claudia Zeiders was honored
with the presentation of her past
worthy adviser s pin. Mrs. Mabel
Cunningham, accompanied by Mrs.
Lucile Gray, sang The Lord s
Prayer" and "Faith Unlocks the
Door." The "Top Hats from the
Klamath Falls Assembly per

ning's entertainment.
Following the ceremonies, the
Rainbow . members and their
guests enjoyed a party.

MOTHERS TEA
YREKA A "Pink Champagne"
theme marked the setting for the
annual Girls League Mothers Tea,
recently in the gymnasium of the
Yreka High !chool with approxi
mately 250 guests in attendance.
The theme was carried out witn
pink and white streamers, suspend
ed from the ceiling to create a
canopy, and other pink and white
decorations were used in the ta
ble appointments.
Linda Schuck and Dixie Rosen-
crance poured tea and coffee for
the afternoon.

League adviser and dean of wom
en, greeted guests with the as
sistance of Judy, Moore, Girls
League president; Kathy Haines,
vice president; Lena Foggiato. sec
retary: Lorraine Gamma, treasur
er; Betty Bridwell, senior class
representative; Sandra Arnberg,
junior class representative; Sher-
rie Fiock, sophomore class repre
sentative; and Judy Young, fresh
man class representative.

tions on mothers as they entered.
The afternoons program was
opened with a brief welcome ad
dress by Judy Moore. Other events
the program were:

modern dance routine by Marjo-
rie James and Susan Harris
songs by the girl's quartet Mimi
Behnke, Adnenne Favero, Dede
Davis, and Julie Townley, accom
panied by Ardeth Schuck at the
mano.
A comedy skit by Diana Miche
lon, Lena Foggiato and Candy
Smith: and a talk by Kathy
Haines, student speaker at the
Richardson Springs conference.
Gifts were presented from the
Girls League and the student body
to Mrs. Helen Sherman, who is
completing her last year at Yre
ka High bchool, by Judy Moore
and Kathy Hurley and Mrs. Sher
man made a brief acceptance
speech.
Judy Moore was also the recip
ient of a gift as retiring Girls
League president.
Floy Johnston of the employ
ment office, was introduced as one
of several of the special guests.
She was the first president of the
Girls League at Yreka High School.
Donna Morrison was program
announcer; and Janet Elsea was
commentator for the fashion show
which concluded the program. Ar
deth Schuck was pianist for the
fashion parade.
Behnke-Lamm Vows

and Ronald Behnke, both longtime
residents of Dunsmuir, were mar
ried recently at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Don Linebargcr.
The nuptial vows were ex
changed before a fireplace banked
with sprays of hawthorn and green
foliage.

GAIL NERSETH and Ronnalie Olson, both 1956 grad
uates of KUHS, received their associate in arts degree
from Stephens CoMege, Columbia, Missouri, Tuesday morn
ing, May 27. This is the 125th graduating class at
Stephens and approximately 600 received their degrees'
this year. Gail is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Marvin
Nerseth, 2027 Del Moro Street, and Ronnalie Is the daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Olson, 2035 Portland Street.
Both sets of parents were in Columbia for the commence
ment exercises.

Forty members attended the meet
ing keld at the Son s Memorial
Hall and gave special recognition
to Mothers Day by honoring Gold
Star Mothers of the order.
Mrs. Juanice Belcastro was ini
tiated as a new member in the
Lodge Gloria with Mrs. Mary Le-
porini, venerable, presiding at the
degree work which was performed
by John Soletti, venerable of
Cuori-Uniti Lodge and Umberto
Scarabello, special deputy.
The presentation of a gift to
Lodge Gloria and Cuori-Uniti
lodges was a highlighted feature
of the evening. The gift was a
plaque of the statue of Saint t ran
cis for the Sons Memorial Hall
and was presented to the two
lodges by Mr. and Mrs. John Man
tle. Mr. Mantle was a recent re
cipient of a certificate of merit in
special recognition by the lodges.
Regular awards for the evening
meeting were given to Mrs. Tallia
Zandonna and Mrs. Rita Boffo.
Gold Star Mothers honored were
Mrs. Carmela Barbieri and Mrs
Annie Tosi. Other Mothers Day
honors were the oldest mother
present, Mrs. Aurelia Sbarbaro;
the youngest mother, Mrs. Rosie
Guerra: and the mother with the
most children, Mrs. Juanice Bel
castro. .
Birthdays remembered with gifts
were for Mrs. Maria Scarabello,
Mrs. Rita Boffo. Mrs. Mary Clio
do and Mrs. Elsie Sartor.
Dinner was served after the
meeting for the large group attending.
