Prosperity
You're fortunate to live in trie Klamath Basin, where economic conditions are. among
the best.
Employment in the lumber and logging industries this season will equal the peaks of
1956 and '57. Construction work will near the all-time high of last year. For example: The
Copco job now employs 300 men; the 150 men working at the Air Force housing soon will
grow to 350 or 400.
The Basin's 1957 agricultural crop brought in more than $322 million, an increase
of 15 over the previous year.
Klamath people have been prudent and increased their savings "and liquidated many
of their contract obligations. Personal savings in the Klamath Basin are at an all-time high
and are continuing to grow at the rate of nearly 1 0 per year.
The future is brighter yet. Already there are !35 civilians, airmen and officers em
ployed at Kingsley Air 'Base. When the 403th Fighter Force is activated and the Johns
Manville plant goes into operation, enployment and business opportunities will be greater
than we have ever seen. '
Klamath auto dealers are happy to join hundreds of other U. S. communities with a
"You Auto Buy Now" week to help stimulate business and employmentThe livelihood of
one out of every six families depends on the automotive industry.
, We are fortunate to live in Klamath, and it's to "Keep the Basin's Prosperity Rollin' "
that we say "You Auto Buy Now." .
So put yourself in a modern 1958 automobile to keep pace with the better living of
the Klamath Basin ... to give your family the comfort, the economy and the security that
it deserves in a modern automobile.
