VFW Chooses
Delegates
MERRILL Delegates to the
VFW state convention were an
nounced by the presiding presi
dent, Marian Knox, during a reg
ular meeting o( the Lost River
Auxiliary to Post No. 4056 held at
the Merrill VFW Hall on Wednes
day, May 7. Delegates will be
Barbara McKoon, Bertha McKoen,
Mary Lou Swisher and Ida Fleck.
Alternate delegates are Mary Fran
Hammond, Katie Mcrrilees, Joan
Trotman and Vivian Miller. The
convention is to be held at Red
mond on June 25 to June 23.
Committee appointed in charge
of sales on Buddy Poppy Day,
May 24, are Marian Knox, Norma
Wilson and Mary Fran Hammond.
President Marian Knox an
nounced that the bloodmohile will
he at Merrill on June 5 and urged
all members to give their support.
The annual June dinner is sched
uled for Saturday, June 14, at the
Merrill Recreation Hall. Commit
tees in charge are: tickets, Dor
othy West: tables, Blanche Max
well: kitchen, Grace Walker; and
wrving, Mary Iran Hammond.

It was announced that the VFW
District 5 meeting will be neld in
Mnlin on Tuesday, May 13, at 1:30
p.m.
The Merrill kindergarten, snon
sored by the VFW Auxiliary, will
havo graduation exercises on Mon
day, May 211, at 8 p.m. in the
Merrill Recreation Hall. Pre - reg
istration lor the fall kindergarten
term is Wednesday, May 14. be
ginning at 9 a.m. at the rccrc
alinn hall.

Lakeview Grads
LAKIiVIKW For the third suc
cessive year the members of the
graduating class of Lakeview High
.School will he guests of the Lake
view F.Iks Lodge and the Lake
view Parent-Teacher Association.
Monday night, June 2. following
the commencement excesses.
The program includes dancing
from 1(1 p.m. to 2 a.m., followed
by entertainment and a ham and
egg breakfast. The municipal
swimming pool will be open in
the parly morning for class mem
bers who wish to take advantage
of it.
Expenses for the evening will
ne paid by Hie l.lks Lodge, with
the exception of the dance band,
the cost of which will be shared
by the class. Solt drinks and sand
wiches will lie served throughout
t he evening. Chaperons will be
members of the l'TA and officers
of the lodge.
