OREGON i STATE COLLEGE -Principals
o f 59 Oregon high
schools, including Klamath Falls
and Henley, have been invited to
the Oregon Jtate College campus
February 15 for interviews with
former students on high school and
college cours. offerings and coun
seling programs.
The principal-student interviews
were started s ix years ago by OSC
as part of in evaluation of its
counseling anil orientation program
for new students.
Only eight iVchools were invited
the first year but highly favorable
comments from students and prin
cipals have prompted expansion of
the interview program each year.
Under the program, principals
have individual, voluntary inter
views with thjciir graduates who
are now attending OSC on the
strong and weak points in high
school offering;; and OSC's new
student oriental ion and counseling
work. Following the interviews,
principals meet with college lead
ers and review tcomments and rec
ommendations of the students.
Findings in past years have
brought change! and improve
ments in some aspects of both
college preparatory programs in
the high schools and in OSC coun
seling programs designed to help
students get off to a successful
start in college.
