Chairman James Barnes has an
nounced. The pair are Robert E. Bonney
and Glenn Bowen, who were di
rected by Barnes to study the
feasibility of preparing the lake
water for use at the rink.
In the past, the problem of keep
ing the rink supplied has been the
duty of regular rink crews, Barnes
stated.
The board also delegated Rich
ard Hicks to assist in the organi
zation and operation of the city's
concession stand at the rink.
In other action, Barnes said that

an island in a national limerick
contest sponsored by a movie stu
dio and travel agency, have this

Shelby, 23, an aircraft worker,
said yesterday that he. his wife
and 15-month-old daughter plan to

new motion picture process, mod
estly named Ctnemiracle, was
unveiled this week. It's a Cine
rama - like gimmick that over
whelms audiences with sheer big
ness. Unemiracle provides more
three - dimensional effect than
Todd-AO, VistaVision or Cinema-

rose Theater, a defunct popcorn
palace which folded when televi
sion stornped onto the scene.
In a speech preceding the
showing, Elmer C. Rhoden, presi
dent pf National Theaters, Inc.,
looked around the shabby thea
ter 'and said, "We hope that Cine
miracle can prevent this sort of
thing from happening in the fu
ture." As developer of the new meth
od Rhoden claims his machine af
fords wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling
viewing for the first time in movie
history.
"The screen can go as high
and wide as a theater allows," he
told the. Hollywood press corps.
"There's no fixed ratio of height
to width."
The experimental screen in Hol
lywood is 24 feet high, 63 feet
wide. A demonstration screen in
New York is 34 by 81 feet and 16
feet deep. Projection covers a
field of 146 degrees wide and 55
degrees high approximately that
ot numan vision, which is 160-60
degrees.
Cinemiraele gives a clear Die--
ture from any vantage in the
theater no blurring or distortion.
Viewers really feel "in" the pic
ture, a discomfiting phenomenon

"The .Miracle."
The first picture is Louis de
Rochemont's "Cinemiraele Adven
ture," a travelogue epic filmed
around the voyage of a Norwegian
windjammer and her crew, sched
uled for release next March.
So optimism again flows in the
jaundiced veins of movietown, but
the big-wigs are reminded that a
good movie with top stars will
make money no matter what size
the screen.
