ing of her little dog led searchers
to Sarah Ann Dobbs, a 3-year-old
deaf-mute lost overnight in a
chilly, wooded canyon.
The child was found yesterday
snuggled up to the puppy, dozing.
She was clad only in a light
T-shirt and panties. She appar
ently had stumbled into a creek
and removed her wet jeans.
Several hundred men, with
bloodhounds and assisted by the
Civil Air Patrol had searched the
area.

HOLLYWOOD (UP Funeral
services will be held Thursday for
Louis B. Mayer, onetime giant of
the Hollywood movie industry.
Mayer died Tuesday of anemia
brought on by acute leukemia at
the UCLA Medical Center where
he had been a patient for nearly
six weeks. He was 72. The final
rites will be held at the Wilshire
Boulevard Temple.

Leader s Conference Day, Novem
ber 2. She will illustrate her talk
on Indian symbolism by displaying
the ceremonial gown which
she made and beaded, worn by
Marlene Dumont. queen of the all
Indian basketball team of Chiloquin

and llnh streets in Klamath Falls
from 9:31) a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Camp Fire group leaders from
Klamath Falls. Merrill, Malm.
Chiloquin. Fort Klamath, Gilchrist
and Dorris. California are expect
ed to attend.
"Meet the People." which is the
annual on-going project for the
Camp Fire year will be the theme
for the day. Workshops will be
held durinr the morning in which
leaders will "meet people" who
will preent various aspects of the
Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girls
programs. Following the luncheon,
a craft demonstration will be given
by leaders who participated in the
recent Arts and Craits Workshop
sponsored by the City Recreation
Department.
Leaders, assistants and sponsors
of Blue Bud and Camp Fire
groups and any other interested
women are invited to attend this
conference where they tan gain
valuable information for use with
their groups and where they can
meet others who have the same
interest in Camp Fire. This is
the only time during the year when
all of the leaders of the Klamath
Council of Camp Fire Girls meet
together.
