the Manhattan district attorney's
staff arc conducting a nationwide
search for a dressmaking firm
executive in the acid blinding of
labor columnist Victor Riesel.
Ttie wanted man, Theodore RiJ.
43, is described by authorities as
'close associate of racketeer
John (Johnny Dio) Dioguardi, 42,
alleged ringleader of six men un
der indictment with him in the
Riesel case.
Officials indicated that Rij may
have been one of Dio s body
guards. U.S. Alty. Paul W. Williams
said his men have been seeking
Rij since shortly after the blinding
acid was thrown into Riesel's face
, street just off Broadway
early April 5.
Rij is believed to have been
the driver of an auto which figured
in the transportation of one or
more men involved in the acid
hurling, ' Williams said. i
The FBI said Rij is wanted on
a charge of conspiracy to obstruct
justice through the attack on
Riesel.
Rij reportedly has been missing
from his usual haunts here since
Abraham Tclvi. described b y
authorities as the actual acid
thrower, was found shot to death
July 21). Authorities said Telvi had
upped his money demands for
executing the attack on Riesel.

bers from Oregon's 29 branches
at the Saturday luncheon in Erb
Memorial on the University of
Oregon campus. Her topic will be
women in Education.
Dr. Stolz has been a pioneer In
the training of teachers and other
workers in understanding and
guidance of children. With this ob
jective, as AAUW Education Sec
retary from 1924-29. she developed

University, where she received

NBC's "Wide Wide World' de
cided to let the nation see how
Hollywoodites spend their Sun
days, one movie director at least
gave an honest excuse when he
ducked out of appearing on the
show: "1 sleep on Sundays."
But the rest of this little village
will be up bright and early Sept.
30 to show TV viewers what goes
on around here on the day of
"rest."
Ernest Borgnine. Sheree North
and Dan Dailey will be at Dailey's
house where they'll break into a
fast dance (from their next pic
ture, of course. I Viewers also will
see Natalie Wood and Tab Hunter
in a swimming pool during a
"party" at director Mervyn Le
roy's house. In real life Natalie
would be holding hands with Elvis
Presley at a movie..
CAMERAS INVADE STL'DIO
NBC's cameras also will invade
MGM studio, the first time a film
factory has been seen live on
TV. The sets will be closed as
usual on Sunday, but MGM s good
will ambassador, George Murphy,
will show viewers around the back'
