ONCE UPON A TIME, gait were o modest that they' wore
a loose garment while talcing a bath. We've lost such silly
false modesty as that, but who amonq you suffers' a guilt
complex while lolling in the tub and taking your fragrant
ease with scented soap, bath crystals and such like? Drown
that guilt complex in Jean Nate's bath bubbles and enjoy
your bath to the utmost.

1 A VERY HAPPY TUB-TIME
"Everybody owns a bathtub, but
few know how to make the most
of it!," says Jean Nate, whose bold
signature is so familiar on her
own line of distinctive bath prep
arations. For 2:t years she has not
only held a preeminent spot in the
bath preparations' field, but she nas
preached the gospel of "the good
bath" as well. By the good bath,
she means not one that merely gets
you clean but one that relaxes
every, pore and fibre, one that
refreshes your mind and spirit, in
short one that makes a new women
of you! But to get all that, you
have to be willing to give a Dit loo.
And here's how Miss Nate sug
gests you do it:
"First of all. make your bath
room an inviting place to lie and
loll in. A pleasing color scheme is
only a start, uive tnougnt to aii-
over carpeting or to new types of
tiles for the floor in colorful pat
terns, and to an unusual wall pa
per. Add any number of decorative
accents: mirror panels, open glass
shelves holding art objects, a stool
or chair, pictures, potted plants,
a book shelf or magazine rack,
unusual towel fixtures, etc. And
if you relax best to music, what
about a portable record player'

across the tub, you can keep your
favorite bath preparations handy
as well as creams, wave setting
implements, manicure and pedi
cure items, something to read. In
dulge in a foam rubber pillow that
attaches to the tub with suction
cups. Ever try a bath sponge or
brush, or a loofah? Take pride in
owning thick, luxurious towels to
match a plushy-deep bath mat
Slippers easy to nudge your toes
into and a comforting wrap-about
robe that match each other and
your bathroom color scheme give
you that extra special feeling of
luxury.
"But wait a minute," says our
bath adviser, "you haven't even
gotten into your tub vet. And
don't until you've scented it with
bath bubbles or crystals and let
the water run really deep. You
waDt"to sink into a pool of warm
fragrant water, not iust dabble in
a little puddle. And neither too
hot or too cold. Either extreme is
over-stimulating. Tepid water, be
tween 90 and 100 degrees, approx
imating natural body warmth, is
just right. Adjust with more hot
water as the tub cools. Lie back
against your pillow and just relax
for a few minutes, close your
eyes, banish all worries. Then
scrub with a good mild soap to
scent-match your other bath prep-
arations. Follow with a cool (not
cold) shower or a rinsing of fresh
water in the tub. Finish with
brisk flourish of Friction pour le
Bain all over the body. And if
you're off to bed, a flurry of bath
powder will soothe you to sleepi
ness. For all this, allow a full- 20
minutes, a half-hour if possible,
