was given by the chairman. Miss
Bast, as a conclusion to the eve
ning program.

of a woman who collapsed with
a heart attack while shoveling
snow in front of her home. He
found it was his mother Mrs.
Mary Haas, 67.

the Salvation Army. 400 Klamath
Avenue Easier weekend. There will
be a Good Friday service starting
at noon Friday and two services
Sunday, at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Major Adams received his train
ing as a Salvation Army officer at
the Intel-national Training College
in Louden. England and com
manded several corps in Great
Britain. He was appointed to inter
national headquarters in London,
and gave missionary service in
China. Burma and India.
He was loaned to the British
government during World War II
and served as British consular!
official. Following a brief furlough
in England in 1945. he returned to
the Hong Kong government as re
lief and welfare officer, returning
to England in 1947 where he re
ceived an appsintment to the Good
will Department ol National Head
quarters. He transferred to the
western territory ot tne unucn
States in 1943, holding appoint
ments in Men's Social Service in
Pasadena and Oakland, then corps
appointments in Billings, Montana,
and Sar. Francisco prior to com
ing to the Oregon-Southern Idaho
Division as director of young
peoples', activities.

Adams is an accomplished musi
cian, for several years leader of
the Los Angeles Congress Hall
