Settlement came last night when
the strikitiK International Union
of Electrical Workers IUE voted
to accept a peace plan proposed
two weeks ago by government
mediators, but changed somewhat
in the union's favor since then.
The new contract gives IUE
workers annual pay raises rang
mg from 6 to 22 cents an hour,
adiied to their prcstnke average
of HMO an hcur. Additional raises
up to let cents an hour were pro
vided lor skilled workers. Pen
sions and insurance benefits were
improved. For example, the com
pany will take over full cost of
employe Insurance after November
1058.
