in its first full month of operation, collected first in the state
and second for the entire company, which operates in the 1 1

The regular meeting of the Gil
christ PTA was held In the high
school library at 7:30 p.m. on Feb
ruary 14. President Charles Shotts
presided.
Prior to the business meeting the
students of the elementary school,
coached by George Bell, presented
numbers from the recent speech
festival held In Malln. Taking part
were Nancy Brewer, with "Poetry
On Lincoln;" Linda Wyse, "A
Speech On the Human Nose;" Don
oval Hitt, "The Coyote From
Roughing It," and Chet Emery,
with "Flesh and Phonics."
Vern Rochek, principal, an
nounced that the donkey ball game
has been postponed until March 8.
Amateur night will be held on
March 23.- There will be cash
awards for the winners, Robert
Wilson will act as emcee.
The appointed nominating com
mittee. Mrs. William Taylor, chair
man, Mrs. Sue Shelton and Mar
lon Edgar, will report to the mem
bership at the March meetings.
Oren Samples will audit the
treasurer's books.. With the help
of Vern Rochek and Marion Editar,
Samples will check the constitution
to determine .if changes are neces
sary in the method of auditing to

G. Oxbarrow reported on the
growing success ot the newly or
ganized Crescent Community Club
with more than 145 members. The
location for a club site has been
chosen. Financial support has been
above expectations with over $1,000
on hand and pledges made for $500
more for the building fund.
The mobile T-B unit will be In
Gilchrist in early March for chest
X-rays for adults. Everyone is
urged to take advantage of the
unit.
Clifford Green proposed a PTA
sponsored one night wrestling
match for February 22 with pro
fessionals to appear. The matches
will be held In the high school
gymnasium.

vivid video drama," was so Intense
that Bridges had at times been in
tears during its rehearsal. This
high emotional pitch plus an un
expected hitch In staging apparent
ly caused Bridges to depart from
the script, the network sa!d.'v
