Chinese Reds Accuse U.S.

series of Red Chinese demands on
the United Stales coupled with a

jeopardize the early return .of
Americans still In Communis-,
hands, diplomatic sources leared
today.
The Reds demanded that the
United States Rive names and in
formation on all Chinese residents
and assi.it the Indian embassy in
Washington to contact these per
sons. They accuse the United States of
"outright violation of the letter and
spirit" of the agreement for the
return of civilians reached in the
ambassadorial talks here.

Methodists Set
Annual Rites
CHILOQUIN The annual Christ
mas programs to be given at tht
Methodist church are scheduled
for Sunday. December 18. The
Sunday school program will be at
10 a.m.. regular worship service
at 11 a.m. and a special Nativity
program in song and by movie will
be at 7. SO p.m. '
The evening program will feature
the choir directed by Mrs. Print
Bell as they present two Chilst
mas anthems, three foreign Christ
mas c irols, and two solo numbers.
"Sleep O Child Divine" sung by
contralto Janice Cuenther and "O
Holy Night" soprano Mrs. John
Mannerlng. A musical prelude will
be played on Ihe organ and piano.
A beautifully filmed version of
the Nativity story will be shown
by the Rev. Edmund Stanton at the
close of the choir selections. It be
gins with the appearance of the
angel unto Mary and closes with
he visit of the three Kings to the
infant Jesus while the sound track
carries orchestral and choir selec
tions and the Bible story.

ler Air Force Base, near Biloxi, Mississippi. He has been in the
Air Force since August. His older brother, A-3c Harold Berg
lund Jr., is also a radar and radio specialist, now on duty at
Blaine Air Force Base, Washington. The older brother, who
also took training at Keesler, will be released next February
after four years service.' The family moved to Portland in 1943.
Before they moved, the brothers attended Shasta View school.
Their grandmother, Mrs. Mary Berglund, lives at 2307 Biehn.
Winter Cold Spell Holds Fast
