THURSDAY, DECEMBER 15, 1955 HERALD AND NEWS. KLAMATH FALLS. (JREGON PAGE TWENTY-NINE SPICED APPLE CRUMBLE A delicious dessert for two Is APPLE COBBLER Heat oven to 350 degrees. Pare and slice four Jonathan apples and lay slices in a shallow 8-inch bak ing dish and sprinkle with V cup sugaT. Place in oven. Beat 1 egg; add Vi cup sugar and beat togeth er. Add H teaspoon vanilla and stir into cup biscuit mix. Add 1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine and Vi cup shredded coconut. Spread over hot apples and continue baking 25-30 minutes or until apples are tender and top ping Is nicely browned. Serve warm, plain or with milk or cream. Serves six. Spiced Apple Crumble, made from packaged muffin mix. Core and slice two Washington Jonathan ap ples and place in small, buttered, shallow baking dish. Sprinkle with with gifts from Sears. cup of water. Blend together i package of muffin mix, 4 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon ana 1-3 cup softened butter or margarine, Drop mixture over ap ples.
