James Fair
James Carrol Fair. 50. assistant
manager of the Oregon Slate liquor
store In Klamath Falls (or the last
eight years, died at Hilllde Hos.
pllal December 8. He had suffered
from s hesrt condition for some
time. .
Mr. Fair wss born in Arkansas
and spent most ol his life in Texas.
He was a member of Pence Memor
ial Church and of the Odd Fellows
Lodge.
He Is survived by his widow
Mrs. Rachel Fair, two children.
Mrs. Joy Plnncy and Mark Fair and
one grandchild, all of Klamath
Falls: his mother, Mrs. Maude Fair
and three sisters all of Santa Ana.

Funeral services will be held

business license ordinance was re
vised last night during Its lirst
city council reading after two
small water companies objected to
inequality of license rates.
The Ice had been set for $100
a vear to water companies. Rep
resentatives ol the Sha3ta Retreat
and Van Fossen water companies
pointed out they only have 70 and
30 customer outlets each. The
Dunsmuir Water-Company, it was
noted has 1.100 customers.
Councilinen changed Uie rates to
S10 a year for water firms with
lewer than 100 outlets, ana jitm ioi
those companies with more than
500 customers. A subsequent first
reading of the ordinance passed
after it was agreed all licenses will
be rated on gross business of each
