' SOMETHING NEW DENVER m Something new has been added to the arsenal of a band of vandals: eggs filled with paint. J. A. Davidek told police yesterday two such eggs were thrown at the front porch of his home. He said the vandals appar ently punch a small hole in the shell, drain the egg, and fill the hell with paint. Murdock Gets Meet Choice Tom Murdock, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Murdock. 4079 Shasta Way. a junior at Willamette Uni versity, has been named to repre sent the university at a Washing ton Semester Program, American University, Washington, D.C. Murdock was chosen by Dean Mark Hatfield to -be a delegate to this conference. This is the sixth year that Willam ette has participated in the pro gram which includes 70 universi ties in the U.S. While in Washington the student! will complete individual studies and projects to be worked out in conjunction with some government bureau and will participate in a session led by a government offi cial. They will also take various courses in majors fields and study the workings of the government while in Washington. These little movies have no plot. but Cotten finds his job in them the hardest he's had in 15 years of being a top performer. Cotten was handed the host Job after he played "moderator" on David O. Selsntck's spectacular on electricity last year. Sometimes the aix-minute movies take three hours to make, sometimes four days. In each Junior-size picture Colten takes the TV audience be hind-the-scenes at Fox Studio for a lesson on how to make movies. "If Ed Sullivan can devote 30 minutes to 'Guys and Dolls' I don't think anybody could object to my six minutes of talking! about a Fox movie," is Cotten'a opinion. "I don't think my segments have been too commercial. Once or twice I suggested the adjectives sounded too commercial and thev were happy to remove them," he added. Cotten's share of the Fox show is made by Oscar-winning camera men, writers and directors, sets are built and a script written for Cotten and his "co-stars" the ac tors and technicians .he interviews. The technicians, he says, "come well prepared, know their lines and ate on the set on .time. One woman in tho research department was a wonderful actress." The actor thinks his six-minute TV shows could go on forever be cause of "so many interesting de partments in a studio to visit." Once he asked fans to request wbat behind-the-scenes views of s studio they'd like to see. , "One man wanted to see Marilyn Monroe changing her clothes," ho sighed. - .
