OREGON PAGE SEVENTEEN BssassBSBaaaspsHM ANOTHER KLAMATH INDUSTRY is being given publicity at the Klamath County Chamber of Commerce. George Bartch, chamber traffic manager, it shown obierving the special packs of potatoes packaged by Crater Lake Potato Distributor. The new packs are available at the Big Y Market, Carter's Fine Foods and at the company warehouse at the Ha'ger roil, road siding. They are particularly appropriate for Christmas gifts which are typical of the Klamath Basin. The firm was organized this fall by Karl Dehlinger of the Henley district and Ron Phair, owner-operator of the Big Y Market. Oakland Man Fined In Yeed WEED George Crosley MeCon nell, 42, of Oakland, was found guilty of driving without a cur rent operator's license and for passing another car without suf ficient clearance. The Jury trial was held Tuesday In the Weed judicial court. The Jury of eight women and four men found him Innocent of a charge of driving while intoxicat ed. McConnell had pleaded innocent to the three counts following his arrest on July S by California Highway Patrol officers. The trial was delayed until December 6 because of vacations of defense attorney. R. T. Creswell. Oakland, and George Tyler, Yreka, assist ant district attorney. Judge Kenneth Stone sentenced McConnell to pay a fine of $105. BROADCAST AGREEMENT NEW YORK 'Jh The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, says that Radio Prague and Radio Warsaw have agreed to broadcast American-produced Christmas programs for the first time. ON LEAVE at home in Alturas is A2c Norman R. Stein, son of Mrs. Clella Stein. He has been stationed at the Larson Air Force Base at Moses Lake, Washington, and in January will be sent overseas. Farm Group Elects Heads ALTURAS The Modoc Pomona Grange met in Alturas Saturday night and elected officers for 1966. Elected to the executive com mittee were: Robert Minto, three year term; Nellie Starkebaum, two years; home economics chairman, Olga Ragsdale. The Junior classes will be given special recognition and will have a place on the platform during the opening program. Fellowship Dinner Held In Malin MALIN The annual fellowship dinner and family night program was held in the Malin Presbyter ian Church, Wednesday, November 30. Seventy were present. Sunday school teachers were in charge of the potluck dinner which is sponsored by a different church organization each month. Following the dinner, Leonard Hill, Sunday School superintend ent, introduced the teachers, gave a brief summary of the goals and needs of the Sunday School and presented the film, "The Hidden Heart."
