Hie new downtown commercial
garbage collection ordinance will
go into effect on December 1, an
nounced the Klamath Falls city
Council at ita regular meeting
Monday night.
The ordinance specifies that each
business establishment will be re
quired to provide a covered con
tainer for its garbage cans. The
law, which was passed by the
council September 6, also requires
any business not having such a
container must keep the garbage
inside until just beiora the time
of collection. '
A fine will be levied for non
compliance with the ordinance,
said Police Judge Frank Blackmer.
In other business before the
council, condemnation proceedings
were initiated oy the council
against tne property of Eugene D.
Potts and C. R. Potts, Grants Pass.
Their property consists of lots 7

Cascade Gives
Wage Increase
LEBANON, Ore. (UP) A wage
Increase affecting more than 800
employes of Cascade Plywood Cor
poration's plant here was an
nounced today by company and
union officials.
A. E. Anderson. Cascade vice
president, and Keizer Cox. busi
ness agent for local AFL plywood
and veneer workers, said-the wage
boost ranged from 5 to 15 cents
an hour, effective Dec. 1.
The contract, approved by ply
wood workers in a weekend ballot,
also provides that all wage and
contract negotiations between the
two groups will remain closed
until April 1, 1957, with a provision
that wage negotiations can be
opened by either party Nov. 1,
1056.

The reason may be due to a prob
lem of vision, hearing, environ
ment, or education.
The remedial student is one who
has a retarded condition of speech,
reading, spelling, or other aca
demic category which will respond
favorably to additional, personal
ized Instruction.. The mentally re
tarded i3 specifically excluded
from this classification. The emo
tionally disturbed child may be re
ceiving educational and personal
help and may be remedial or re-
