These are on wildlife this year in keeping with the county wide program on conservation. Eighth grade news by Susan Gedney: At 10 o'clock last Thursday there was an assembly on Indian dances. After the assembly Mr. Ernest! talked to the eighth grade class about Indian life in the West. This was in relation to their study of Oregon history. Also Thursday at 1 p.m. there was an assembly for the eighth grade boys on the Fisher Body Guild. Mr. Mclan non talked to the boys about how to design them. There was also a movie in , color. The boys were given a chance to enroll in the guild, if they wished. 8aturday, November 6. there was a playday for the eighth grade girls of Altamont and other schools from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They played games and there was swim ming. Estes Kefauver, another of the men who might become the Demo cratic party's standard bearer in 1966, left here last night after a 24-hour visit with Senate Majority Leader Lyndon B. Johnson. Whether their private exchange of views might have some effect on Kefauver's eventual announce ment concerning presidential as pirations was uncertain.
