On Solicit Ban

at the reouest ot attorneva for
Elder Lloyd C. Wyman. a Seventh
Day Adventlst pastor. Wyman was
arrested in a "friendly", test a
week ago after he tried to -sell
religious tracU and a Bible to the
Cresham police chief. His supplies
were confiscated.
Wyman was accused1 of violating
U.e town's "Green River" ordi
nance which bans door -to -door
cales without a license.
Wyman contends that the ordi
nance violates the First and Four
teenth amendments of the Consti
tution which guarantee freedom of
speech and religious expression,
equal protection under the law and
ban seizure of property without
due process of law.
The case will be ready tor .trial
here Jan. 15.
The Seventh Day Adventist
Church has stated the case will be

ter, Otho Bell says he's enjoying
his first real freedom since he was
captured in Korea in 1950.
Bell, 24, pne of three turncoats
released by the Army last week,
came here Sunday and has spent
me intervening time getting ac
quainted With Paula, the daughter
born while he was overseas. With
his wife, Jewell, he plans to estab
lish 'a permanent residence here.
Paula cuddled in his lap as he
talked to newsmen here Tuesday.
Bell said he plans to rest until
the first of the year, then he will
eel in touch with other former
prisoners of war in Korea to form
an organization of ex-POWs to
fight communism.
The ex-Army corporal was cap
tured in Korea In the fall of 1950.
When hostilities ended in Korea.
Bell refused repatriation and
elected to remain with the Chinese
Communists.
After 18 months with the Chi
nese, Bell and two others decided
to come home. They were arrested
by the Army when they reached
Sjan Francisco last July but were
freed .last week after a federal
judge,' acting in line with a U.S.
Supreme Court decision, held the
Army could not try them since it
already had discharged them,

Three Perish
!n Hotel Room
TACOMA, Wash. liTV The bodies
of two men and a womaii were
found In an almost-airtight motel
cabin southwest of hero Tuesday
night when the motel owner called
to check possible frozen water
pipes.
The three persons, believed
asphyxiated when oxygen in the
air was consumed by two burning
butane Jets, were Identified as:
Harold G. Wise, 28, an Army
chief warrant officer stationed at
Ft. Lewis. '
Joe Rosa. 54, employe of the Mt.
Rainier Ordinance Depot and resi
dent at the motel cabin for the
past three weeks.
Louisa H. Tomlinson, not other
wise identified.
Clyde Eabcock, 54, owner of the
motel, forced the cabin door when
he received no answer to his
knock. He found the bodies of Rosa
and the partially clad woman on
a bed and called the sheriffs ol
fice. Police found Wise's body in the
bathroom, near the only open
window in the cabin. He appar
ently had staggered to the bath
room after arising from a cot.
R. B. McCreadie. Pierce County
chief criminal deputy, said a num
ber of empty beer Dottles were
found in tne place. An autopsy
was scheduled.

Salesman Injured
In Car Accident
ALTURAS Sgt. Lou Wright of
the California Highway Patrol re
ports that Frank Hall, a salesman
from Klamath Falls, overturned his
car at Indian Springs south of
Adin Mountain summit Saturday
night about 9:45 p.m. -
Hall was taken to the Modoc
Medical Center by George Combs
for treatment for cuts on his leg,
head and ears. No other vehicle
was involved, Wright said.
