held Wednesday for the Canyon
eers' Variety Show to be held at
the Dunsmuir Elementary School
auditorium Thursday and Friday,
November 17 and 18.
Tne Canyoneers are Dunsmulr's
youth organization and all proceeds
of the show will be used for the
group's activities. The majority of
the members are musicians or drill
team members.
Mrs. Wayne Turner, show chair
man, says it will be a snappy
90-minute program. Croup acts in
clude songs by the boys' and girls'
choruses, adult folk dancers and
drill team routines. One of the
stars of the show will be Karen
Copitsky who will present solo
dance numbers. The elementary
school teachers will present a skit
nd the Kappa Phi sorority will
do a specialty dance.
There will be about 16 specialty
numbers, Mrs. Turner stated, fea
turing singers, dancers and instru
mental numbers. . -rf .

thief gave her a note reading,
'Give me your money." She said
she handed over about seven dol
lars, mostly in silver, and the thief
left.
She said that the thief was ap
proximately 45 years of age, oi
average height and medium build.
He carried no weapon, she said.
The incident occurred at about
8:15 p.m., police said.
