' Swap Fun For Funds
In Scholarship "Socials"
A peasant, painless and practi
cal fund-raising plan Is now In
operation as an Oregon Technical
Institute Faculty Wives project to
finance OTI student scholarships.
The plan was evolved at a Fac
ulty Wives meeting, when the
women agreed to continue their
financial assistance to deserving
OTI students 'ho otherwise
might be unable to complete

"Entertainment" was the key
word to the basic Idea and Mrs.
A. E. Smith was one of the iirst
to translate it Into action. She en
tertained friends at a morning cof
feeand each guest, after a pleas
ant Interlude of Informal visiting,
was happy to leave a small contrl.

the Scholarship Series,
Mrs. Jack uouglas entertained
her group of "givers" with a card
party. She was hostess to three
tables and players had a choice
or ortdge or canasta.
Mrs. Harold Pedersen was lunch
eon hostess to co-members of a
(net scholarship) committee and
nil were enthusiastic supporters of
the ' pleasura-to-pay" program of
social gatherings.

grand, Mrs. C. Flook.
Highlight of the evening's festivi
ties was "The Family Album," a
skit produce with a cast of lodge
members, Mrs. Cfcdys Washing-
tin, Mrs. Ethel Spence, Mrs. James
Kirk, Mrs. Mildred Wilmarth, Mrs.
Zark Perry. Mrs. Robert Porter,
Mrs. Leslie Boydstun and Mrs.
Ray Bulis. Background piano mu
sic was played by Mrs. William
uavis.
Games provided added entertain
ment for the evening. The special
and door prizes were won by Mrs.
Myrtle Williams and Mrs. Mildred
Wilmarth, respectively.
Booth chairmen for the bazaar
were Mrs. Bulis, lancy work; Mrs.
Robert Tonkin, potted planus, Mrs.
Lea Kyle, fish pond; and Mrs.
Wilmarth. food sale.
Mrs. Washington' and Mrs.
Snence were co-chairmen of the
entertainment committee and
refreshment - committee for the
event were Mrs. Bovdstun. Mrs,

and Mrs. Sig Merrick.

Mrs. Wallace Uerllngs, at an
other morning coffee, was happy
to make a generous contribution
to the scholarship fund after greet
ing a number of friends and chat
ting over a leisurely "cup'or two."
Mra. Carl Btolpe was another of
the gracious hostesses. She Invit
ed friends to share an afternoon
cup of coffee and at similar "so
cials'the combined efforta of
hostesses and friends should swell
the fund for soma scholastlcally
qualifying and deserving boy or
girl who needs a financial crutch
to continue as a student on the
"Mile High" campus.
