Weekend Fires
Hit Klamath
Three fires were reported over
the weekend by Suburban and
Klamath Tails fire departments.
The worst of the fires was at
the Summers Lane auction market
last night, when a blaze of un
known origin burned for about an
hour until it was stopped by mem
bers of the Suburban department.
Considerable damage was caused
to the building, firemen said, but
there was no estimate of damage
cost available at this time. An
auction was held there yesterday,
but when the owner, Ed Hlghley.
and the tenant, Bill Stoner, had
checked the premises at About 6
p.m., they found nothing wrong,
(lremen reported.
The a!arm, turned In at 10:43
p.m., was answered by four pieces
of equipment, leaving two for
standby.
Two small blazes were reported
Sunday evening by the city fire
department. A sawdust bin at the
Ellingscn Lumber Company caught
lire at about 9:23, and caused
some damaite to the bin bclore it
was controlled.
An oil stove owned by John Pe
terson. 607 Upham, became flood
ed and burned out of control, but
no damage was caused.
Warren P. Cody
Funeral Planned
Funeral services are pending at
Ward's Klamath Funeral Home for
Warren Pearl Cody, 52. who died
October 16. He had been a resident
of Klamath Falls for 25 years and
was associated with the Pelican
Lumber Company and the Shaw
Lumber Company during his resi
dence here.
Surviving are daughters. Mrs.
Dolorc's Lewis, Nancy and Judy
Cody, and a son, Warren, all ot
this city: his parents, Mr. and
M r s. Earl Cody. Sacramento:
brothers, Wayne Cody, Klnmnth
Falls and Byron of Sacramento: a
sister, Mrs. Fern Francis, Sacra
mento and a granddaughter, Linda
Lewis, Klamath Falls.
Woman Injured
In Road Mishap
A woman was Injured yesterday
when a pickup truck pulling a
trailer skidded across the highway
and overturned the trailer alter
the right rear tire blew out, Ore
gon State Police reported today.
The accident occurred at 4:511
p.m. yesterday on U.S. Highway 97
about four miles north ot Kirk
Junction.
The truck, driven by Malcom
Caldwell, 62, of Gold Hill, was
headed south at the time of the ac
cident. The blowout lorccd Cald
well to lose control of the vehicle,
which skidded across the road and

A thirsty thief broke the door
of Louie's Grocery, 147 East Main
Street sometime Friday night and
took two or three cases of beer,
Klamath Falls police reported to
aay. The glass on the window front
was apparently broken by hitting
it with a bottle. Broken bottle

door.
The burglary was not reported
at once because the owner, Fran
cis Durbin of Pelican city, thought
that the dr-.mage had been mere
ly malicious mischief. However,
when he checked his stock, he
found that the beer was missing.

Lists Arrests
