is Louis Kowolowski, who is also building the new high school.

LAS VEGAS (UP)-The Ameri
can Mining Congress today sought
a revision of general mining laws
to provide a "reasonable period
of protection" for anyone making
discoveries.
The congress, meeting here in
convention, adopted a resolution
lauding Congress for legislation
which prevented land racketeering
through filing of mining claims
"In bad faith." At the same time,
the AMC urged that, because of
increased reliance on expensive,
modern equipment for prospecting
laws be revised to give tne "rea
sonable period of protection" aft
er the discovery is made.
The AMC also lauded tne open
ing of vast new areas for explora
tion which previously were closed.
The congress, however, announced
us opposition to granting atates
any rights in public domain lands
which interfere with mining. It al
