BLY A reception for (he teach
ers of Bly School, an annual event,
put on in recent years by the
Parents and Patrons organiza
tion, was staged Thursday eve
ning. September 15. in the science
mom of the school. All but two
of the teachers were on the staff

The new ones were Mr. and
Mrs. Chaley Samples, who taught
formerly at Alliunont and Henley
schools respectively. Samples will
be the athletic coach besides teach
ing biology, science and manual'
aria. Mrs. Samples will handle
girls' physical education, commer
cial subjects and library. The
group were enthusiastic in wel
coming this married couple to the
icacning stall of Bly School.
The teachers welcomed back
were Lotls Joncschelt, first grade;
Ruby McCain, second grade and
part of thud; Jewel Cambron bal
ance of third and all of fourth;
Ruth Obcnchain, fillh and si.xtli
grades; Melvin Brooks, seventh
and eighth. Howard Bingham will
teuch English from the sixth grade
on up through high school, and

ON LEAVE for two weeks at
Malin was Pvt. Doyle J. Has
kini who visited his wife and
baby son, Gary, who are liv
ing with Mrs. Hasltins' par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Drager
of Malin during Haskins' mili
tary duty. He has finished
basic training and reported
to Fort Caston, Colorado, for
eight weeks of advanced in
fantry training.

solution.
Some believe annual legislative
sessions would be the answer. Oth
ers suggest creation of a legisla
tive council, which could prepare
I he groundwork for each session.
It could do preliminary work on
the state budget, and get bills in
shape.
Something will have to be done,
because Oregon is growing up.
Secretary of State Earl T. New
bry. beaten for the Republican'
gubernatorial last year by Gov.
Paul Patterson, still has hopes of
becoming governor.

Near Bocus Creek
YREKA (UP)-A human skele
ton, apparently a number of years
old, has been found near the
Klamath River In the Bogus Creek
area.
The Siskiyou County Sheriff's of
fice said the bones were found
Tuesday. They were sent to the
slate crime laboratory In Sacra
mento in an effort to establish
