Chamber To Sponsor Annual Teachers' Tour Of Klamath

air power now surpasses our own,"
paid Twining, Air Force chief of
staff. "It does not."

other war, our unquestioned abil
ity to outproduce any nation will

He said the Soviet Union In the

Soviet aircraft are more advanced
than ours, for they are not.

said. "They are ahead In rate of
progress."

Klamath, serving as general chair
man. Following Ihe dinner, a dance
will be sponsored by the C. I. Club
on the outdoor dance pavilion be
side the clubhouse. Mrs. Roy Del
'enbacher, and Clifford Sargent,
Chiloquin, playing the piano and
guitar, and Orville Knightpipe,
saxophone, from Klamath Agency,
will furnish music or the dance,
which will start at 8:30 p.m.

of Teachers' Institute week which
begins Monday and runs through
Friday of next week. Ciedit will
be given teacher by the state
school system for their participa
tion. Final preparation's for the morn
ing program were made Wednes
day noon at a luncheon of sonif

ance of "getting across" to the
teachers the virtues of the free en
terprise system and of how it
works.

fully explained this so that it may
be passed on la their students,

He said this year there will bc

The teachers will assemble at
Mills School at 8:50 Tuesday morn
ing, and mil be taken to the re

They will return to Mills School
at 11:30 a. in. .
At a firm they will be wel
comed by one of 1U chief execu
tives; tour the plant or store;
be given a word outline of what
business contributes to Klamath
Falls and Klamath County; be giv
en an explanation of how Uie firm
handles its employment, education
and Laimng program; be pointed
out the problems of business and
industry m the community and
throughout the country; and they
will be explained the importance
of maintaining all the country's
freedoms.
Following the tour and as part
of the in-service training program
teachers participating will report
on the days activity.
They will be required to answer
the following questions about the
iirnis they visited:
What business firm did you vis
it; was the representative of the
firm well prepared for the day
(to be answered, excellent, good,
fair or unsatisfactory); was the
story of the free enterprise sys
tem explained to your satisfaction:
do you have a better understand
ing of tne problems of business
after this visit; in general state-i
ment how could the day be im-j
proved; what sugRestions do you
have for the preliminary prepara
tion B-E Day: what type of follow-!
up program should be used: and
what specific firm would you like
to visit ncxyear.
