August 8 will have a ticket and
transportation If plans of local
Shrlners and merchants carry

Chester porter Is heading the ar
rangements committee. He announ
ces that tickets for school children
will be available and three buses
will be waiting at the elementary
school grounds at 11 a.m. on Tues
day, August 8. He said that sev
eral parents have expressed will
ingness to provide additional trans
portation to handle a possible over-
How crowd.
Special supervision is being ar
ranged by city police and the
Shasta County sheriff's office for
the circus-bound transportation. The
children will return home about 6
p.m.
The Shrine Circus will play in
Redding Tuesday and Wednesday
and Is making special arrange
ments for children from all over
the area to attend a children's
matinee.
Porter says that parents wishing
to take their children to Redding
may get their tickets from him.
He asks also that as many chil
den as possible let him know in
advance their plans to go by bus.

Arkansas town until racial integra

They signed a resolution present
ed at a town meeting by Herbert
Brewer, a farmer, and they agreed
to withhold their children from
school, starting today.
Hoxie, like many towns in the
east Arkansas cotton land, starts
its fall term early in order to be
able to close during harvest sea
son. '
Integration went Into effect with
out incident with the opening of
school last month. There were 20
Negroes and 1,000 white students.

Reynolds Sr., aluminum magnate
who died last' week, left an estate
of $13,780,000 with his widow the
sole - beneficiary.
The probate of the will Jiere yes
terday disclosed that Mrs. Julia
Parham Reynolds will receive a
life trust consisting of cash, stocks
and personal effects..
Upon her death, the state will
be divided equally among the
Reynolds' four sons. Reynolds, 73,
was chairman of the board of
Reynolds Metals Co. Richard S.
Reynolds Jr. is president of the
firm and the other sons, Louis,
W. O. and David P. Reynolds, hold
vice presidencies.
