The Federal Civil Defense Ad
ministration has given special rec
ognition to the widely distributed
St. Joseph calendar as a means
of putting civil defense information
into American homes.
In a message to FCDA agencies
and individuals all over the na
tion, the FCDA points out the pub
lic service being done by he 1955
6t. Joseph calendars and urges
cooperation In their distribution so
(hat citizens can be better pre
pared lor the emergency of bomb
attack.
St. Joseph calendars, filled with
such Information as weather fore
casts, planting and lishlng charts,
times of sunrises and sunsets,
moon phases, sign of the Zodiac
with horoscopes and other timely
data, first ran a civil defense chart
for 1054. It was so popular that
drug dealers from coast to coast,
as well as Plough, Inc., 'drug man
ufacturers In Memphis. Tennessee,
who print and distribute the cal
endars, were deluged with requests
for free copies.
