tem to make the office procedure
more efficient and at the same
time comply with a state
wide standard tax record system.

Former Klamath
Resident Dies
Robert Eck,. 59, . a resident of
Klamath Falls for 37 years prior
to moving to Mcdiord about ten
years ago. died Thursday at 13:02
a.m. at the Sacred Heart Hospital
in Medfcrd.
Eck was employed as a mill
worker while residing in Klamath
Palls. He was a member of the
local Swedish Order of Vasa
Eagles lodge, American Legion
and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors Include his widow
Anna, two nephews, Fred Eck,
Klamath Falls and Louis Eck
Medford; a niece Mrs. Earl Cary,
Hardwood, Michigan and a sister
Ester Eiderstrom, Bernland Swe
eten.
Funeral service will be held
from the Pearl Funeral Home in
Medford at 10:30 a.m. Saturday
Interment at the Siskiyou Memor
ial Cemetery, Medford.

Negro Chemist
CHICAGO lF A noted Negro
chemist says he has received a
letter threatening the lives of his
children unless his family moves
irom its home in a suburban
white neighborhood by Nov. 1.
Dr. Percey L. Julian said yes
terday he had turned the letter
over to the FBI and added that
he had no Intention of moving.
Julian, 65-year-old president ol
a research laboratory and a chem
ical company, owns a 15-room
home in Oak Park. An attempt to
burn the home was made in No
vember 1950 before the Julians
and their three children moved in
and a bomb was thrown at the
home In June 1951. .

Ana Cordon was born in Prine-
vllle. She learned shorthand and
typing, stepping stones to a re
sponsbile position as a legal sec
retary ... on September 30 in
1914 when World War I was in the
making, she married a rising
young attorney from the land of
the long-horned cattle, Texas, and
from then on Ana Cordon, wife of
Senator Guy Cordon, has arranged
her daily timetable to meet that
of her husband, onetime county as
sessor later district attorney and
Oregon's senator.
She is the granddaughter of Orer
gon pioneers, Iva Jane and Hardin
Davis, who arrived from Iowa in
1652 with an ox team to settle on
a land claim in this state.
Mrs. Cordon collects antique
china and glass . . . loves Washing
ton in the sDrina and finds Mamie
Ersenhower one df the most charm
ing women she has ever met . . .
everyone," says Mrs; Cordon,
'finds her easy to meet and a
gracious hostess in the White
House."
Senator and Mrs. Cordon have a
son Allen, studying law in Wash
ington, D.C., a daughter Mrs. Lau
rence Pliu, wife of a major in the
Air Force on tour of duty in Eng
land ana two romping young
grandsons.
The Cordon's are guests th'.s
weekend at the Merrill Potato Festival.
