Man As Girls' Hypnotist
SAN FRANCISCO Wl Police
Tuesday night issued an all points
bulletin for Eric Von Bahen, 33-
year-oid floral decorator and self
styled hypnotist, in connection
with a weird story of the illness,
hypnotism and pills administered
to five girls in a boarding house
here.'
The five girls,- all dental, nurs
ing students, agreed that the
man sought was a "perfect gentle
man" and they weren't sure they
had been really hypnotized, or
that Von Bahen had anything to
do with their illness.
The five girls were Ramona Dur
ham, 18, of Cottage Grove, Ore.;
Shirley Oliver, 18, of Fowler (Fres
no County), Calif.; Ermonie
Graham, 18, Aberdeen,' Wash.;
Anita Tabor, 18. Crows Landing,
Calif., and Janet Ann Trucco, 20,
of Stockton. Calif.
All but Miss. Trucco have re
turned to their home towns. She
still is a patient in Mount Zion
Hospital here.
Police Lt. Don Scott and two
inspectors investigated the story,
talked to the gifts and their landlady.
From two of the girls, Scott said
he learned that Von Bahen gave
them several small pills be

dents of the place were stricken.
They were released from the
hospital the next day, only to be
come ill again two days later.
They were held overnight at an.
other hospital and released again,
Last Sunday, Miss Trucco had a
relapse and was taken to Mount
Zion.
After questioning the girls, the
officers sought Von Bahen and
found that he not only had leit
