YMCA To Open
'Fun Club'
A new YMCA program feature
for boys is scheduled to start Oc
tober 2, Bill Cornell, program sec
retary, said this morning.
The new feature, the "Y" Fun
Club, will gel underway at noon
Saturday, October 2. Meetings will
be twlca weekly from 12 to 3 p.m.
Saturdays and 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thurs
days.
Program will-include field trips
to interesting places, educational
films, all in season sports, tum
bling .and trampoline, games, stor
ies and shower period.
On Saturday meetings, boys are
urged to bring a sack lunch and
10 cents for pop. Other Items need
ed are a bathing suit or shorts,
T-shirt, tennis shoes, towel and 15
cents club fee for shower and other
program expense.

Action has been taken by Acme
Fast Freight, Inc., to reduce
freight rates being paid by Klam
ath Falls merchants and shippers,
according to Newton J. Mundlin,
general agent for Acme Fast
Freight, here.
Reduction is expected to amount
to at cents per hundredweight In
some classifications, up to $2.19 in
others, depending upon the type
of commodity and the rate it now
carries.
His announcement, made this
week, states;
"We have realized for a long
time thn problem confronting lo
cal shippers in having to pay high
er freight charges than firms in
key terminals; however, because
of cost factors and rate structures
of the forwarders, we have not
been able to eliminate the arbi
trary.
"Now. in view of the changes In
our basic rate structures which be
