host covered dish luncheon in the
hall on August 20; dessert was
served by Lillian Geaney, commit
tee chairman who conducted the
business meeting following the
luncheon.
It was reported that cookies and
magazines had been sent to co
worker Evelyn Rush's father and
brother who are ill in a Medford
hospital. All Academy members
and their families are invited to
the picnic to be held at he Marin
park on August 29. Each family
is asked to bring own food and
table service.
All committee chairmen are in
vited to participate in the quilting
project, and should come to the
next meeting on September 10.

Honolulu where she spent the sum'

advanced swimming. She left the
states last June. '

majoring in English and minoring

THEIR GOLDEN wedding anniversary was the occasion for
a festive day at the home of celebrants, Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Yancey, 1920 Gary Street, when their four sons and their
wives entertained for them with an open house last Sunday
afternoon.
Carl and Bonifay, Wesley and Lucille and Wayne and
Beverley, all of Klamath Falls and Harold and Virel, Eugene,
invited guests to call between the hours of 2:30 to 5 p.m., and
almost 100 friends came to congratulate the couple.
They have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
All except two of the grandchildren were able to be here.
Edith Bothers became the bride of Frank Yancey, August
25, 1904, in Lewiston, Idaho; but both are native Oregonians;
and have lived here since 1917 Mr. Yancey, now retired,
was a logging contractor for many years; and Mrs. Yancey
will be remembered by scores of KUHS graduates who knew
her during her 14 years of employment there.
