The United Fund (Klnmath Coun-
ty) supports the year-around pro
gram ot bom organizations but al
lows no funds -for capital outlay
or development of the camp. Funds
for development and maintenance
of the camp are derived solely
from gills from individuals, serv
ice clubs, lodges and business
lirnis, and from protits from the
annum candy and cookie sules
sponsored by the two organizations.
During the past three years the
local Elks Lodge has been one of
Hie most generous of donors and
through their etiorl-s most of this
year's improvements have been
made possible. This year we have

done even. when you are "on a summer camp. (71 Licking the
cake pan is always a favorite occupation, at home or in
camp. (8) Swimming is the highlight of the day. In actual
practice the canoes are not. allowed in the swimming area,
but were moved in here in order to get them in the picture. The
canoes are new this year, one being purchased by the Camp
Fire Girls end the other by the Girl Scouts, the two groups
sharing the camp turn about.
(91 A new brick fireplace will add a cheerful note to the
fun house when completed. The fireplace, as well as other
features of the camp, have been built almost entirely with
volunteer labor, the fathers of the girls turning out on week
ends to build tent frames, fireplaces and 'all the other items
in the camp. The fun house is in the new fun house, the build
ing that replaced the one that collapsed under the weight of
snow during the winter of 1951-52,

noes were purchased this year by
the two girls organizations.

girls and 21 staff women attend
ed the camp. Mrs. Lawrence (Na
omi) French, executive director for
the Klamath Council of Camp Fire
Girls directed the camp. During
this session the program for the
girls Included good food and plen
ty of rest in the brisk mountain
air; hiking, swimming, boating, ca
noeing, archery, nature lore, handi-1 pack trips Into the mountain lakes
crafts, horseback riding, hayrides country and evening campfires
in the moonlight, overnights and I with skits, stunts and stories .
