Grandmother's
ClubTo Meet
The 13th annual National con
vention of Grandmother's Clubs
will be held October 17-21 at the
Olympic Hotel, Seattle. Plans for
the convention are now being
made by Mrs. Dorothea Sullivan,
Chicago, national president who
was in Klamath Falls recently to
help organize the local club.
There are now 17,000 members
In America. The federation of
clubs Is 16 years old. The group
Is social and educational and
brings together older persons
whose families are raised. It Is
non-secterian and non partisan.
There is no ago limit.
Grandmother's Day has been
designated as the second Sunday
in October, which this yean, alls
on October 10. Members are hop
ing to make It a national holiday
by act of Congress.
Plans are underway for estab
lishing a "Haven" building fund
for the elderly In need. Contribu
t i o n s are being accumulated
through the clubs only and there
is no canvassing of lndivduals or
business houses. Contributions are
also given to research organiza
tion in the interest of health of
children.

ters have been established at
203 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago.
The national publishes a maga
zine Autumn Leaves fou times a
year that Includes news of all the
chapters, editorials, poetry and
pictures. ,

to all grandmothers. Mrs. Dorothea Sullivan, Chicago, seated,
was here recently in the interest of organizing a club in Klam
ath Falls. The luncheon meeting was held in the Willard Hotel.
