An administration official famil

told newsmen Elsenhower is in
complete agreement with Atty.

the President or Jnis aides proba

leaders In an effort to get the bill
shelved.
Eisenhower will have an oppor

with Republican legislative
leaders.
The bill to outlaw the Communist

Humphrey's proposal would
provide maximum penalties of five

Despite Eisenhower's reported
opposition to outlawing the Reds,
his aides declined to speculate on
whether he would veto the com

along with the Senate and ap
proves it.
But the President was said to
feel that such a measure would be
most ineffective.
He was understood to have ex
pressed the view Communists
sbioad would be quick to spread
propaganda picturing U.S. Reds as
martyrs and victims of persecu

the security of the country can
best be safeguarded by avoiding
steps which would force the Reds
further Into hiding.
The President had an opportuni

Eisenhower's guest along with

at an informal outing.

many respects the greatest pic

The picture is long. Three hours

drag in the latter portions, when
there is less action and more -unraveling

The characters remain story
