"A TRULY LOVELY WEDDING" . . . wat the repeated
comment made by guests who were deeply Impressed with the
simple dignity of the Young-Murray nuptials in Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, last Sunday. There was also a great abun
dance of friendly warmth as evidenced by the pictures above.
Some 300 guests, many of them close friends of the two
families for many years, witnessed the marriage of Rosemary,
Rosemary Murray Summer Bride
Of John Young August 1st In
Sacred Heart Catholic Church
In a beautiful wedding gown of white pure silk tissue
shantung, Rosemary Murray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Per
cy Murray, 812 Pacific Terrace; became the bride of John
Alan Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Young, 1951 Erie;
in Sacred Heart Catholic Church last Sunday afternoon.
The richness of the- gown's fabric was stressed in the
simple lines of the chapel length dress, truly majestic in
effect on the tall, slender bride. Only trimming was a deep
nana 01 lace outlining tne
vee neckline. A tiny net pill
box, dotted with seed pearls
held the circular tiers of il
lusion veiling. Rosemary wore
matching mitts and carried a cres
cent of white gladioli and camel
lias (also strikingly simple).
Majestic daisies interspersed
with white gladioli and woodwardia
Xcrn were used for church flowers;
and alternate pews were marked
with the same flowers tied with
white satin bows.
Mrs. George Mclntyre was or
ganist for the wedding. She played
Alexander Schreiner's "Wedding
March" for the processional; and
Felix Mendelssohn's march for the
recessional.
The bride's mother entered the
church to the strains of "Hail
Mother, Queen Enthroned" a fa
vorite hymn of Rosemary's. A lit
tle different from the usual was
the Bach-Gounod "Ave Maria"
composition for organ, played by
Mrs. i Mclntyre as a solo the
bride's request Instead of a vocal
' solo.
The wedding was a "family af
fair" atid the bride's sister, Mrs.
Rodney Bell (Marcella), was ma
tron of honor. She wore a pale blue
shantung waltz length dress of lm
. ported Doupionl pure silk, with
. draped off the shoulder neckline
bows of the same material topping
the brief sleeves. Matching slippers
and a small bandeau of blue net
outlined with narrow gathered folds
of the same material with forehead
veils completed the ensemble; and
her shower bouquet was of mixed
field flowers, predominantly daisies.
Mrs. Rodney Murray, bride's sister-in-law,
was honor attendant,
dressed exactly as the matron of
honor.
Rodney Bell, brother-in-law of the
bride, served as best man; and
ushers were Rodney Murray, Rob
ert Hilton,' Robert McPherson and
James Steele.
Mrs. Murray was charming In
beige lace over cream satin; as
was the senior Mrs. Young, in navy
blue lace combined with net styled
with a bouffant skirt. Mrs. Mur
ray's dress was accented with a
green orchid corsage; Mrs. Young
wore a rubrum lily.
