Henry-Meeker Vows Said
In Peace Memorial Church.
Calla lilies and green fern fronds formed the striking
floral background for the recent wedding of Nora Meeker
to Charles Henry Jr., in Peace Memorial Church. The Rev.
Dwayne L. Proett read the candlelight service at 2 p.m.,
July 18, in the presence of a large gathering of friends and
relatives.
The pretty brunette bride is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Meeker, Midland Road; and Charles (Hank) Henry
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Henry Sr., Los Angeles.

ganist, accompanied Mrs. Day
ton Finchum, soloist.
The bride, escorted by her
father, who gave her in mar
riage, wore a gown of white
nylon net over taffeta, with
fitted bodice, long sleeves
pointed at the wrists and
peplum of lace. Filmy full
ness was achieved in the yards
of nylon net over the generously
gathered underskirt of taffeta. A
snug-fitting cap of satin leaves
and net aeed-pearl trimmed held
the fingertip veil of Illusion. Her
bridal bouquet was of Eucharis
lilies and stephanotls tied with
satin streamers. She also carried
for the "something old" an heir
loom lace handkerchief made by
her great-grandmother.
Mrs. William Meeker, matron
of honor, wore a waltz-length dress
of ice-blue lace over taffeta; and
?he carried a bouquet of pink pom
pon chrysanthemums.
Bridesmaids, Joyce Johnson and
Sharon Finchum were dressed ex
actly as the matron of honor, ex
cept for color. They were in yellow
and carried orchid bouquets.
Aaron Boo attended the bride
groom as best man. Tom McGill
and Ted Payne, ushers, were also
candlelighters.
Mrs. Meeker wore a powder blue
linen afternoon dress, accented
with a corsage of garnet roses. The
senior Mrs. Henry wore gray lace
over pink with pink accessories;
and her corsage was of white roses.
Wedding guests were received
in the Pelican Party Room im
mediately ' after the ceremony.
Pouring were Mrs. Loren Meeker,
Mrs. Ben Star and Mrs. Jack Way
brant. Mrs. Glen Fundenburger
and Mrs. Marian Lehman served
the cake; and Mrs. A. E. Wood
assisted.
Before leaving for the honey
moon trip to Southern California,
the new Mrs. Henry changed to a
two-piece sea-mist knit dress with
tan accessories.
From out of town for the wed
ding were Mrs. Charles Henry Sr.,
Los Angeles; Mr. and Mrs. Wil
liam Meeker, Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Harrison and Mr. and Mrs. Rich
ard Harrison, all of Medford.

was the presiding officer when
Lost River Auxiliary to Post 4056
VFW met in regular session July
21, at the recreation hall. Bessie
Duncan and Nellie Fleck were del
egates to the state convention held
In Bend July 7 and 8. The local
auxiliary was awarded second
place in the state for youih activi
ties, and a fourth place for 100 per
cent membership. Mary Lou
Swisher was installed as district
president.
The auxiliary will again sponsor
the Merrill Kindergarten when
classes open this fall; Mrs. Lavin
na Storey, the teacher. Refresh
ments were served following the
meeting by Bertha McKoen and
Geraldlne Shelton.

The two girls met and became
friends while attending leadership
school at Pacific Lutheran College
at Parkland, Washington, last sum
mer.
