Dorothy Smith.
Mrs. Bessie Frazier will discuss
the flower show. Mrs. Alice Haley
will talk on 'Propogation of Root
Cuttings of Day Lily, Bleeding
Heart and Oriental Poppy.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Perry and
Julia Anne, Klamath Falls, spent
the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
George Baldwin and family. Mr.
and Mrs. Don Hubble, Klamath
Falls visited bis parents the King
Hubbies.
Mrs. Bert Goff and daughters,
Oakridge, spent several days with
her parents the Frank Bramwells.
Mrs. Maurice Sewald was called
to Oregon City by the death of her
sister.
Mrs. Pauline Dewey left by plane
for Nebraska called by the serious
illness and death of her sister. Sym
pathy is extended to both Mrs,
Sewald and Mrs. Dewey. Another
sad death was 6 - year - old
nephew, Stephie Hawkins of Med
ford, of Mrs. Bud Lee, who was
accidentally hung while playing
with a rope swing.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Powers, Mo
desto. Mrs. Merit Smith and chit
dren, Klamath Falls, visited at the
Owen Pepple home Saturday. Don
and Owen are cousins. They also
visited the Leavitts and Monroes
and other old friends in Langell
Valley, where they lived for many
years.
Patsy Wakefield has returned
home after visiting relatives and
friends in Portland. She is the
daughter of the Jim Wakeflelds.
Carol Lou Weatherby, who is
employed at Whytals in Klamath
Falls spent the weekend with her
parents, the Carroll Weatherby's.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Schisler,
Modesto, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Der
ry, Donna and Jerry, Malin, Mrs.
Mary Schmidt, Clyde and Janice
were dinner guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Howard Schmidt Friday eve
' Ding.
Mrs. I. B. Morris, Henley, vis
ited Mrs. Bill Bechdoldt. Monday,
Fatty Schmidt Visited In Langell
Valley Wednesday with Margaret
Bumett and Cora Leavitt.
Mrs. Bertha Vinson spent several
days at Reno with her two sons and
their families.
Mrs. Oral Wagner, Los Angeles,
visited the Hazeltines and Van
Snipes last week. She came up to
visit her son Charles and meet the
new grandson, of Klamath Falls.
Mrs. Lee Davis and Mrs. Thelma
VanDyke are spending some time
at Condon.
Mrs. Merrill Stewart, Mrs. Les
ter Jones, Mrs. Owen Pepple and
Mrs. BUI Bechdoldt spent Tuesday
afternoon in Langell . Valley with
Mrs. Paul Monroe.
There will be a bridal shower at
the Bonanza Library, 7 p.m. July
20, In honor of Mrs. Wilbur Walk
er, the former Marie Lee, All

visiting the Cam Griffith's daugh
ter, Mrs. D. L. House and family.

Smith and Rosle DeOrande have
returned from a month's vacation
where they toured 29 states and
part of Canada. They visited
friends and relatives on the way.
Dude Parker is much improved
at her home in Keno after spend
ing several days in Klamath Val
ley Hospital where she underwent
major surgery.
Mildred and Frank Pecoraro
and children and Grace and Leon
ard Ramsey spent the weekend
camping and picnicking at Hyatt
Lake.
Rosie DeOrande Is spending the
week at Spring Lake with Ruth
and Louise Douglas.
Jack Parker, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Morris Parker, Keno, left
for Lackland Air Force Base in
San Antonio, Texas, where he
will be stationed with the United
states Air Force.
Sonya and Joe DeGrande Jr.,
have returned from a two weeks
vacation trip to Orchards, Wash
ington, where they visited their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E
Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. L. De
Grande. Hiey were brought home
by their aunts, Wanlta Hansen
and Johanna Youkln and their
grandfather, Joel Hansen.
Ruby and Clyde Kennedy, Klam
ath Falls, spent some time with
the Joe DeGrandes in Keno after
a vacation trip to Detroit, Michi
gan, where they purchased a new
automobile. The Clyde Kennedys
are former Keno residents.
Ed Cloud Jr., from southern Cal
ifornia Is back at the home place.
The Senior Clouds expect to re
turn to Keno later this fall.
' Vella Cooper, daughter, Janelle
and son. Bill, spent one month in
Benicia, California, with Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Hampton.
Sonya DeGrande is spending sev
eral days in Klamath Falls where
she is employed.
Jean and Thomas Holman,
Waco. Texas, spent a two week's
vacation with Mr. and Mrs. M. F.
Padget, Keno. Jean Holman is the
daughter of Mrs. Padget. Thomas
was just discharged from the
USAF. The young couple expect
to make their home in southern
California.

dance at the Fort Rock Grange
hall, Saturday night. July IT. The
dance proceeds will benefit the
dormitory and community hall at
the fairgrounds in Lakevlew. .

visited his aunt and uncle Mr. and
Mrs. Floyd Branch. Clinton and
Joan. He returned to Lakeview

where she will visit with her aunt

Schnick and Jean, while she re
ceives medical treatment for an
infection in her ankle.

Sunday, July 11. Mrs. Smart is
Mrs. Hergert's sister and W, D.

Dick Morehouse left for Bend
July 11, where he will enter the
St. Charles Hospital to have mi
nor surgery done. .
Mrs. Jack Gillette, Suzan and
Carolyn, Mrs. Donald McGee and
David went to Paisley July 7 and
had chest x-rays at the mobile
unit.
Big Damage Suit Filed Over Death
DETROIT W A quarter-million-
dollar damage suit against Dr.
Kenneth B. Small has been filed
by the divorced wile of the man
he killed, Jules M. Lack, New York
businessman.
Only last Saturday, the 31-year-
old Detroit dentist was found in
nocent by reason of insanity In
the May 29 pistol slaying of Lack,
his pretty wife's suitor.

The suit, filed In Wayne County
Circuit Court yesterday, asks dam
ages of $250,000 in reparation for
the lost potential earnings of the
shooting victim and as f compensa
tion for the "pain and suiiering"
of Lack's two sons, John, 9, and
Andrew, 7. It was brought by Mrs.
Jean A. Lack of New York, ex.
and
Still In jail at Allegan, where
the trial was held. Dr. Small said:
"Seems to me that after the nil-
wife of the late industrialist,
David C. Lewis.
Mrs. Lack and Lewis are co
administrators of Lack's estate.
Lack, 45, was shot to death by
the handsome society dentist dur
ing a Memorial Day weekend ren
dezvous with dark-eyed Mrs. Edith
Small In southwestern Michigan.
