but sure sturt yesterday afternoon
as 51 cars answered the call lor
Uie nine race program.
The opening day program Was
marred by restarts and holdups
that drug the starting show Into
uie iste aiternoon hours, but still
proved to supply plenty of excite
ment lor large crowd of spec
tators. Medford's Bernle Miller In M-ll,
took an early lead In the main
event and held on to It to nose
out another Medford car M-14,
driven by Wilbur McOllvary, at the
end of the 24 laps.
Twenty car started the main
but only thirteen survived the
bruising hangups that occured dur
ing the 25 lap course.
In the B main, Rsy Brackman
nabbed top honors with his K-23,
while Al Rossi K-43, finished In
a disputed second plsce. Third and
fourth place winner were George
Smith and Buck Buckley In cars
K-76 and K-3.

track official the laps were not
