Vote Held
The board of directors of Union
Oil Company of California was re
elected Tuesday at the company's
annual share owners meeting
with the exception of W. W. Valen
tine, resigned, it was learned from
Ed Dlttrich, Union's Klamath Falls
representative. ...
A. J. Lawrey, Union Oil vice
president in San Francisco, was
elected to the vacancy. At the or
ganization meeting following the
annual share owners meeting, all
officers of the company were re
elected. Represented either In person or
by proxy were 8s" per cent of the
common shares outstanding" owned
by 82 per cent of the company's
41,000 share owners, It was an
nounced by President Reese H.
Taylor.
An increase In the authorized
common shares to 18,000,000, and
an employe's Incentive plan were
approved.

Park Crews Busy With
Annual Spring Cleanup;
Recreation Park Schedule
Spring housecleanlng Is the order
of the day in the Park and Recre
ation Department of. the city, ac
cording to the director. Bob Bon
ney. Ctty.employes are busy now trim
ming trees, cleaning areas of de
bris, putting sprinkler systems in
operation in city parks, spreading
fertilizer and leveling ball fields at
Conger Field, Recreation Park. Ki
wanls Parle and Falrview Play,
ground.
On the recreation program, Re
creation Park is fully scheduled
afternoons and weekends by OTI,
Sacred Heart Academy and the
Klamath Merchants. Conger Field,
Kiwanis park and Falrview Play
ground are used each weekday
afternoon and Saturday mornings
by the school system.
Bonney said that any junior ball
team or Independent team Is wel
come, for the present, to use any
of the fields where this use will
not conflict with above scheduled
activities. ' '
The Pelican tennis team works
out daily on the Moore Park courts,
and have three conference meets
scheduled and 'one district competi
tion in the offing. ,
The full-scale summer recreation
program will begin June 14 In five
supervised play area, with tennis
instruction1 included on the pro
gram. Bonney Is urging people who use
the boat launching area at the lake
near the entrance to Moore Park
to move trailers and cars away
from the area to leave room for
others to park. A small boat dock
will be built at the launching area
soon, Bonney stated,, to facilitate
boat users loading and unloading
passengers.
