the "Y". Twenty-year-old Barker is holding 45-70 Springfield,
an 1869 model, and a dual purpose bayonet. On the table
are an 1 1.7mm. Great Dane rifle with a rolling block, 1875
model; a 6.5mm. Dutch Mannlicher, 1916 model; a Mossberg
semi-automatic. Alto included in the collection ere a Merlin
39-A 22 with scope, a Stevens favorite L.A., a Remington
slideaction, Hopkins and Allen 16 gauge shotgun, a Stevens
12 gauge shotgun, a .410 gauge shotgun. The public is cor
dially invited to attend the Hobby Show the evenings of April
22 and 23 and the afternoon of the 24th.

Bond issue
SALEM W) -Salem voter's will
decide at the May primary wheth
er to issue $365,000 worth of bonds
for city projects, the City Council
decided Monday night.
The ballot proposals are:
A $200,000 bond Issue lor widen
ing South 12th Street along the
Southern Paciiio main line tracks,
and separation of the tracks from
the roadway.
A $100,000 bond Issue for pur
chase of the Capital Journal Build
ing. The council wants to use it
for water department offices.
A $63,000 bond issue for widen
ing Ferry Street, end resurfacing
South River Road.
A charter change so that the
council could lease city property
to private parties for longer than
five years.
Disabled Ve Fish
License Reduced
SALEM Ifll War veterans who
have disabilities of 25 per cent or
more can get fishing licenses for
only 50 cents, the State Veterans
Department reminded Tuesday.
Applications are made to the
State Came Commission in Fort
land. Service men on active duty in
Oregon can get fishing and hunt
ing licenses for the resident fees,
even though they live outside the
state.

mysterious new brain chemical
may help you keep your blood
pressure down despite arguments
and other emotional strains of
life, a physician said Tuesday.
This chemical is found in nerve
centers deep in the brains of
humans, cows and horses.
It is not yet known exactly what
It is. New experiments with it were
described by Dr. Alfred Letm
dorfer of the Stritcb School of
Medicine, Loyola University, Chi
cago, to the Federation of Amer
ican Societies for Experimental
Biology.
