The labor attack on the U. S.
secretary's visit was spearheaded
by John Strachey, minister of war
in the Labor government, and Jen
nie Lee,, member of Parliament
and wile of the party's left-wing
leader, Aneurln Bevan.
"For us to agree with America
in attacking the Chinese mainland
would be insanity Itself." Strachey
told a party rally. "That would be
the royal road to a third world war
and a third world war now, means
certain extermination for the Brit
ish people."
Miss Lee told another party
meeting:
"We must till Dulles that we cau-
not take a stand (on Indochina) .
If there are certain Americans
who are now wondering whether
they are going to drop a hydrogen

or in Indochina, they have to be
told quite olearly they cannot con
tinue that policy and hope for the
continued friendship and coopera

Dulles' call for united action in
Indochina, said Pravda, was only
a cover for "extending the war."
It asserted that "no threats by the
imperialists will be able to stop the
just national liberation struggle in

field work to be completed within

to study an apparent trend toward
decentralization of retail business
Mills Concert Announced

linist, Wayne Angel, who will ap
pear in a scholarship concert to
be held at Mills, auditorium. This
concert, sponsored as it was in
1953 by the Klamath Musical Arts

with the opportunity to observe
Wayne's remarkable progress in
the art of wiolin made during the
year's hard work under the tute
lage of Rex Underwood, well
known violin teacher of Portland.
Klamath Falls is fortunate in
having a proportionately large
number of young musicians of ex
ceptional talent, whose future suc
cess in the field of music is of
enormous interest to the entile
community. The community itself
is establishing a fine record of
support for its young talent. The
Klamath Falls public school mu
sic program is recognized all over
the state for the fine bands and
orchestras it is producing. The in
terest expressed by the community

dents as Athena Lampropulos and
Wayne Angel establish a precedent
