Saturday night, April 3, to be ex
actwas the style show at KUHS
Tuesday morning.
The style show featured models
from the Girls League, showing
what the well dressed miss -will
wear to the annual Spring Formal
Saturday night both in dress and
in floral accompaniment. Models
were Susan Geary, vice president
of the league; Nadine Wilkerson
and Beverly . Martz, president of
Dance-a-Lot, a sub-club of the
league which traditionally sponsors
this only all-school formal of the
spring season. '
Charlie Mack, of Klamath Flow
er Shop, donated boutonnlers for
the boys who acted as escorts and
different types of corsages for the
girls shoulder corsages, wristlets,
bead bands, waist bouquets and
nosegays.
Black Magic is the theme; McDonald-Morgan
is the orchestra.
Joan Meador is president of the
Girls League; Mrs. A. H. Drue-
cker Is faculty adviser. Mrs. Frank
'fucker is faculty adviser to the
Darce-a-Lot group.

PORTLAND (P) Business ac
tivity, as measured by bank clear
ings -and building permits, turned
upward in Portland In March, but
did not reach the level of March,

Bank clearings totaled 689 mil
lion dollars, an increase of 132 mil
lion over February but 89 million
under last March.
Building permits were valued at
nearly four million dollars, almost
double the February mark, but a
million under March, 1953.

Evacuation is being considered
in terms of a northward trek Into
already outlined upstate "support"
areas. These are not hemmed in,
as is most of the city, by bodies
of water.
The civil defense director said
he would need at least three days
to evacuate the city. His problem
is to reconcile this with the pos
sible warning time of an H-bomb
attack, an hour or two.
Marshal Tito
May Visit U.S.
NEW YORK Ifl - Leo Mates,
new Yugoslav ambassador to the
United States, said Thursday
Marshal Tito would accept an in
vitation to visit the United States.
Mates made the statement In re
sponse to a question at a news
conference after his arrival by

would go to Washington Monday.
