Sunday evening lor Fort Richard
son. Anchorage, Alaska, following
a 30-day furlough spent with his
family, Mr. and Mrs. D. Hoefler,
Gloria and Wanda.

afternoon with Mrs. Sarah Michael.
Deanne Ripple is spending spring
vacation with, her aunt, Mrs.
Frances Petrasek of Malin.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Michael
were dinner guests Sunday evening
of Mr. and Mrs. E. c. Bisbey.
Mrs. Sarah Michael has received
word of the birth of s great-granddaughter
in Seward, Alaska. Par
ents are Mr. and Mrs. William Fra
iler. This is their fourth child and
bas been named Maralyn.

Fred Andnl, 39. son-in-law of
Mr. and Mrs. James Green died
Monday, March IS. when a log
rolled on him as he was helping
load a logging truck 11 miles west
of Olenbrook, In Benton County.
Andal was a partner with his
brother-in-law in the logging oper
ation. Ho lived with his family at
Monroe.
Mr. and Mrs. James Green and
Mr. and Mrs. Alonza Vernon left
Tuesday morning to attend iho fu
neral services.
A daughter weighing 7 lbs. 3 of.
was born March 13 at the St.
Charles Hospital in Bend to Mr.
and Mrs. Con Guinee of Brothers.
Mrs. Gumce is the former
Jeanne Wlndom. daughter of Clar
ence Wlndom of Paisley. This is
the first child for the Guinces and
it has been difficult for the proud
parents to find a name for her.
A crowd gathered at the Walt-mire-Stratton
new store building
Monday evening where a broth
er of Strattons from Montana
showed moving pictures of scenes
on Salmon River he had taken
while on visit there last summer.
According to those who attenoed. !
the fish were larger than most I
caught around here and scenery
was beautiful.
The juniors have been out this
week getting subscriptions to var
ious magazines to help with ex
penses for the Junior-Senior ban
quet. Tuesday Leslie Frazee and
Arleta Blair led having sold $140
in subscriptions.
