tary, Is active in church work, has
a BA degree from the Universi
ty of Oregon and a . mast
ers degree from the Colorado
Sti'te College of Education.

sert bridge, March 10. The St. Pat
rick ruoiifi prevailed in the flecor
ations. Following the dessert, three
tables of bridge were in play with
high prize for the afternoon going
to Mrs. Merrill Stewart; second
high to Mrs. Owen Repple; and
Mrs. Frank DeBel won the tra
ding prize.

Mrs. Bessie Campbell, member
of a staff of a Eugene radio sta
tion, with her own daily program,
will speak at the annual Sorop
tlmist dinner at tne Wlllard Hotel,
Tuesday night, March 23. Mrs.
Campbell has traveled widely- in
the Orient. Her topic will be "Two
Kinds of Living."
The "Woman of the Year,"
achievement award, will be pre
sented following the dinner, to a
woman in the community who
over a period of time has been
identified with tne advancement oi
women In this community.
There will be no regular meet
ing next week due to the banquet.'
Audrey Smith of the Lakeview
club presented a gilt, won by
Coral Sabo, who with Alice Lamm
helped with organization of the vis
iting club.

MACDOEL The last regular
session of the Winter Pinochle Club
was held last week with. Mr. and
Mrs. Arnold Criss as hosts.
High prize winners for the eve
ning were Mrs. Carl Garey and
Bud Stevenson. Low prizes went
to Mrs. Jim Butler and Had
Noakes. Jim Butler won the travel
ing prize.
Members present were Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Butler, Mr. and Mrs.
Had Noakes, Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Garey, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Steven
son, Mr. and Mrs. Jim wnitt, Mr.

the hostess at the close of the eve
ning. ;
Plans were laid for the end-
of-the-season potluok dinner at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Butler Thursday evening, with
members looking Jorward to their
first taste of moose meat. Mr. and
Mrs. George Jones of Anchorage,
Alaska, former members of the
club, sent a moose roast for the
annual dinner.
Prizes for the year's high and
low scores will be given Thursday
evening.
The week before, Mr. and Mrs.
Wilfred Dixon were hosts, lth high
scores going to Mrs. Jim Butler
and Wilfred Dixon, and low scores
to Mrs. Carl Oarey and HaiW
Noakes. Noakes; also won the 'tra
vellng prize. .

Library, March 10, 8 p.m. in honor
of Jean Tidrick of Sprague River.
Jean Is bride-elect of Mervin
Stalnaker of Langell Valley. Mer
vin is in the Navy stationed at
San Diego, and the couple plan a
lute summer wedding.

social evening and games were en
joyed, followed by the serving of

Women's Christian Society wishes
to thank all those who contributed
in any way to the success of the
chicken supper It gave March 11
at the Bonanza School Cafeteral.
Over $66 was cleared and will
bo used to Improve and remodel
the parsonage.
Later a waffle supper or some
thing similar will be given to
raise money to buy some furni
ture and paint. They also plan
to fix up the Sunday School an
nex. The group has reorganized the
choir and choir practice is held
every Tuesday evening at the
